PASSPORT MAGAZINE

Passport Magazine is a gay travel magazine based in Manhattan. They had focused primarily on the printed version until I was hired to redesign the website. Throughout the publications earlier years, they had a website built in .php that required a developer to post every article and image. They had to contact the developer anytime there was an edit to an article which became tiring. I imported all of the content into WordPress and redesigned a new theme. This was a remote position so I was lucky to be able to travel within the role. I often worked around Europe in cafe’s and outdoor parks.

The job not only required WordPress and web development but also Google Display Advertising. It was known as DART for publishers at the time. We would sell ad space in the magazine to advertisers who funded the production costs of the magazine as well as generating profits. Much of this was done with code using HTML, CSS, Javascript and .php.
