NY ARTS MAGAZINE
NY Arts is a high-quality full-colour print magazine sold on newsstands and distributed at art fairs. The publication markets aspiring artists to the art world. It serves as a resource for them to showcase their work especially when they are just starting in the competitive art world. I worked as an art director for about 2 years or more for NY Arts in Broadway Gallery, NYC. This was a challenging role as I had many functions. I oversaw the production of the magazine managing designers, overseas printers, ad sales, sourcing featured stories, and distribution in newsstands. Aside from the quarterly printed magazine, we had several websites that I was responsible to maintain with current content. These were in WordPress and Joomla!
As an art director for NY Arts, I was responsible for the management of Broadway Gallery. We held frequent art exhibits that I curated by sourcing exhibitions as well as bringing an upscale NY Art crowd. Part of the job was dealing with logistics for shipping hundreds of pieces of art every month internationally. The main show we held was International Artists: At Home and Abroad. We would choose a local selection of NY Artists while scouring the globe to get international artists to exhibit with them.
“Todd oversaw our paid marketing strategy with a close eye and strong attention to detail ensuring our budget spent turn into positive results – plus he is a great guy too!”
“Todd has built all of our websites. The new versions have outdone earlier versions in speed, design, and optimisation. He knows our digital presence inside out, managing all of our technical assets. “
“It is my pleasure to recommend Todd Hanlon as an art director. He wholly rebuilt our studio’s Charging Bull website from scratch. The result: a significant uptick in our web traffic, and more importantly – numerous viable sales leads.”
